Governance

MMEIC is a legally registered and incorporated community-based organisation, firstly under the Federal Aboriginal Councils and Associations Act 1976, and then, by regulation, under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006.

The Corporation was founded in 1993 and has fully maintained the conditions of its incorporation since that time. It is governed by an annually elected Board of Directors led by an Executive consisting of a Chairperson,  Secretary and Treasurer.
